The attack on the United States of America on 9.11.01 reminds us just how precious and fleeting life is. God, the Creator of all life is intimately concerned about you. “Where will you go if you die today? ... Do you have eternal life?”

Your joy or your sorrow for all eternity depends upon your answer. It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will spend eternity in the loving presence of God when you die?

God says in order to spend eternity with Him, you must be born again.

John 3:3

Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

In the Bible, God gives us His plan on how to be born again which means to be saved. First, you must realize you are a sinner.

Rom 3:23

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Rom 3:10

As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one;

Eccl 7:20

For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.

Isa 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all.

Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. Death is eternal separation from God. Separation from God is Hell.

Rom 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Heb 9:27

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

Ezek 18:4

"Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine; the soul who sins shall die.

God has provided the remedy for sin.

Isa 1:18

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the LORD, "Though your sins are like

scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be

as wool.

But God loves you so much he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place. Jesus shed his blood for YOU. Jesus died so that you might have life.

Rom 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

2 Cor 5:21

For He made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Lev 17:11

'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar (the cross of Jesus) to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.'

Heb 9:22

And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood

there is no remission.

Although we cannot fully understand how, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus as he died in our place. He became our substitute.

Isa 53:5-6

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

1 Pet 2:24

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-- by whose stripes you were healed.

John 3:36

"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

John 20:30-31

30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;

31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

God now commands all men everywhere to turn our minds away from sin ... to repent.

Acts 17:30

"Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

This repentance is agreeing with God that you are a sinner and turning your mind away from sin and toward God.

Acts 16:30-31

30 And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"

31 So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."

Believe on Jesus as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom God resurrected from the dead. Salvation is ONLY through Jesus.

1 Tim 2:5

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Acts 4:12

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 11:25-26

25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

26 "And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

The resurrection of Jesus powerfully assures that you, a new believer, can claim everlasting life when you received Jesus as your personal Savior.

John 1:12

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

Rom 10:9

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Rom 10:13

For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Whosoever, in verse 13 includes you. You Shall be saved does not mean maybe, nor can be, but shall be saved. This is God’s promise to you!

John 6:37

"All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

Surely, you realize you are a sinner. Right now, wherever you are, repent by turning away from sin and toward God. If you have not asked Jesus to be your personal Savior you can do that right now. Lift up your heart to God in prayer and ask Jesus to be your personal Savior. Your prayer may go something like this:

"Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died in my place when you were crucified on the cross for me. I believe you shed your blood, died, was buried, and resurrected from the grave for me. I know you are alive today, and I now receive you as my personal Lord and Savior. I thank you for forgiving me from all my sins and ask you to live within me forever. Thank you for your gift of eternal life. Everlasting life is mine because of your merciful grace. Thank you Lord Jesus for loving me and saving me. Amen."

You can take God at his word and accept His gift of salvation by faith. Believe God, and you will be saved. No church, no lodge, no good works can save you. Remember, God does the saving. All of it! Salvation is wholly the work of God.

Eph 2:8-9

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Titus 3:5

not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

That in a nutshell is God's plan of salvation: You are a sinner. Therefore, unless you believe on Jesus who died in your place, you will spend eternity in Hell. If you believe on him as your crucified, buried, and risen Savior, you will receive forgiveness for all of your sins and his gift of eternal salvation by grace through faith is yours.

You may be thinking, “This sounds too easy. It can’t be that simple.

God says in His Word that when you repent of your sins by turning your mind to God and believe on Jesus as Lord and Savior you will receive His gift of the Holy Spirit as evidence of your Salvation.

You are precious to God and your life -your soul- is more valuable all the wealth in the world.

Mark 8:36

"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

Your salvation is for the purpose to do good works. If you lose your soul, you do no good for yourself or others. God's power will not only save you, but sustain you and enable you to live a victorious life in Jesus.

1 Cor 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Do not trust in your feelings. They change. Stand on God's promises. They never change. Pray and asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. His grace provides you the faith to trust Him and act upon His promises.

Be baptized in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ, as a public testimony of your salvation, then...

Pray -- This is you talking to God.

Matt 6:6-8

6 "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

7 "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

8 "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

Matt 21:22

"And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

Read your Bible -- This is God talking to you.

2 Tim 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for

reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Witness -- you talking to others about God.

2 Tim 1:8

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,

Matt 10:32

"Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.

Matt 28:19

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

... then find a healthy, well balanced Bible-believing, Jesus-loving church without delay.

Heb 10:25
